This morning northbound traffic on Dale Mabry was shut down for two hours. Charles Eadens, of Tampa was driving a 2000 Chevrolet 3500PK, carrying 250 gallons of fertilizer mixed with water. He had stopped in Dale Mabry’s center median and was going to head northbound.

Ali Zumbado of Tampa was in a 2002 Mercedes-Benz headed north on Dale Mabry in the left lane. Troopers said, for an unknown reason Zumbado failed to control the vehicle and drifted into the median hitting the rear-end of the truck driven by Eadens. When the crash happened the truck started to leak some of the fertilizer onto the road. Hazardous crews had to be called in and remove the material.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run crash

According to the report, a vehicle crashed into a structure near Town ‘N Country Boulevard and Marston Drive early on Wednesday. The driver left the scene leaving an unconscious passenger in the vehicle. The passenger was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital and their condition is unknown.

Deputies found the driver at a nearby car wash near Memorial Highway. He was arrested and charged with DUI. His identity has not been released.

Mother of a 6-month-old girl died in a single-vehicle crash in Tampa

A mother died in a single vehicle crash on Monday morning in Tampa. Her 6-month -old baby girl survived the crash.

Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 6:30 am on Adamo Drive just before south Ware Boulevard. The mother lost control of her 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo sedan. The driver was ejected and the car flipped and she died at the scene from fatal injuries. The baby was secured in the backseat in a child seat and was transferred to an area hospital where it is said she will be ok. The driver has not been identified at this time.
