At Medina Law Firm, we represent injured consumers and their families in lawsuits against automotive manufacturers and their component part manufacturers. Since 1989 we have focused on litigation involving auto accidents and rollovers where consumers are seriously injured or killed because of automobile defects. Omar F. Medina
Mr. Medina was born on October 7, 1959 in Santa Clara, Cuba. His parents immigrated to the U.S. in 1961. He graduated from Miami Southwest Senior High in 1977. He is a distinguished alumnus of the school having been inducted into Southwest Athletic Golden Eagle hall of Fame. Mr. Medina obtained his undergraduate degree with distinction from Eastern Kentucky University in 1981. While at Eastern Mr. Medina was on the varsity baseball team and was involved in various community outreach programs.
Mr. Medina obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida in 1984. From 1984 to 1988 Mr. Medina worked with an insurance defense firm in Miami. Since 1988 Mr. Medina has practiced in the Tampa Bay Area where he has limited his practice to the representation of injured parties and their families, never insurance companies.
Early in his career Mr. Medina practiced Federal Criminal Defense where he successfully tried several high profile Federal Criminal matters in the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. In the past six years Mr. Medina has tried over 50 trials to verdict.
Mr. Medina is a member of Academy of Trial Lawyers of America, The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, AIEG, Hillsborough County Bar Association, Hernando County Bar Association and The Federal Bar Association. Mr. Medina is admitted to practice in all Federal and State courts in Florida as well as being admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, United States District Court for Colorado, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Ohio as well as being specially admitted to practice in state courts in California, Texas, Georgia and Alabama.
Mr. Medina was formerly the Vice Chairman of the Judicial Nominating Committee for the 13th Judicial Circuit to which Governor Lawton Chiles appointed him from 1995-1999. He is also a member of Mayor Iorio’s City of Tampa Hispanic Advisory Council and is a member of the American College of Barristers as well as being listed in the Marquee Whos Who in American Law.
Mr. Medina is widely involved in community affairs and serves as a volunteer to the Hillsborough County School Board Volunteer Speakers Bureau and AirLifeline which transports individuals in need of specialized medical care to specified facilities across the country.
Mr. Medinas hobbies include being a private pilot, the Martial Arts and coaching baseball. He is married and has three children, Dominic, Justine and Xavier.
